Our History And Musical Mission

Built for Listening

What started as the Community Church Coffeehouse 25 years ago has become something rare — an intimate listening room where Grammy winners and folk legends choose to play, and audiences choose to come back, year after year. Where acoustic music brings people together in song.

Music That Moves You

The best nights of live music share something in common — the noise of everyday life falls away, the stage and the audience find each other, and for a few hours a room full of strangers becomes something else entirely. That's the heart of Community Church Concerts. That, and cupcakes.

No Membership Required

Community Church of Chapel Hill is a Unitarian Universalist congregation — which means exactly what it sounds like. Whoever you are, whatever you believe, you belong here. No membership required.

In Tune with the Community

The Community Church of Chapel Hill was founded in 1953 in direct opposition to racial segregation, led by Reverend Charlie Jones. The congregation helped establish the first integrated preschool in North Carolina. That commitment still guides everything we do — including this concert series. For over 70 years, this church has been a center for justice and service in our community. Concert proceeds helps sustain that work. When you buy a ticket, you're part of that history.
