Edgar Meyer with George Meyer
Saturday, January 9, 2027 | 7:30 PM | Tickets $50 – Day of Show $55

The New Yorker called Edgar Meyer "the most remarkable virtuoso in the relatively unchronicled history of his instrument."
Meyer first gained wide notice in Strength in Numbers - alongside Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, and Mark O'Connor - a project that helped push acoustic music into adventurous, jazz-inflected newgrass territory. In the years since, he has become one of the most decorated and singular figures in American music - collaborating with everyone from Yo-Yo Ma to Chris Thile, collecting seven Grammy Awards, a MacArthur Fellowship, and the Avery Fisher Prize, the only bassist ever so honored. Genre labels more or less give up trying to follow him.
He first played this stage in March of 2003 alongside Mike Marshall - back when this series was young enough that every booking felt like a statement of intent. Edgar Meyer was one of those statements.
He's returning with his son, George Meyer - a composer and violinist who has built a career exploring what classical and fiddle traditions have in common. Put that musical curiosity in conversation with his father's and you have something worth planning your January around. He could play anywhere. He’s coming back here.
